In our class, we work and grow together as a team. Whether we are acting out a scene from The Wind and the Willows or designing ancient Roman shields, we have fun exploring a variety of topics. Our content integrated units include Classic Tales, Classification of Animals, The Human Body, The Ancient Roman Civilization, Light and Sound, The Viking Age, Astronomy, Native Americans, Early Explorations of North America, Colonial America, and Ecology. With enVision Math, students build on their skills of addition and subtraction and develop their understanding of multiplication and division. The lessons in our ACSI Bible curriculum focus on the life of Christ and on the early Church. Students connect personal experiences with their growing knowledge of God’s Word, and they write in prayer journals regularly. Highlights throughout the year include the Eagle Dash, the Veterans Day Celebration, and an Ancient Rome Day. There will be some opportunities for our 3rd graders to get away on field trips as well. These trips will be determined by the teacher and will enhance the topics that are learned throughout the year.
